I have been a professional travel photographer since 2010, and I buy a lot of my gear, and a frankly silly number of memory cards, in the Amazon sales.

So every Prime Day I go through the camera deals to sort the few real price drops from the long list of products that picked up a “deal” badge and barely moved. Prime Day 2026 runs from June 23 to 26. Most of the photography deals are not worth writing home about, as they are most years. A few are actually worth checking out.

The pattern this year is the usual one. The best value sits in previous generation bodies, content creation kit and accessories, not the newest flagship cameras, which almost never discount. Below are the seven deals I would actually spend money on, with my call on who each one suits. The prices below update automatically, so the number you see is live. Availability is what moves fastest on Prime Day, so if something is in stock and you want it, do not wait.

Some links below are affiliate links. If you buy through them I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, which helps keep the site going. I have only included deals I think are actually worth checking out.

Canon EOS R100: best camera for beginners

The Canon EOS R100 with its kit lens is about as cheap as this beginner setup has ever been. It is the camera I point people to when they want to stop shooting everything on their phone without spending four figures. It is small, it is light, and the kit lens is perfectly good to learn on.

Canon EOS R100 Mirrorless Camera RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 is STM Lens Kit

If you want a step up, the Canon R50 is the better camera and excellent value, though it is not specifically discounted right now (this might change, Prime Day often has surprises). For a first camera at this price, the R100 is the one to grab. New to all this? Our guide on how to use a mirrorless camera will get you going.

Sony a6700: best camera for stepping up

Sony has discounted the a6700 for the first time since it launched. This is the APS-C body I recommend as my favourite travel camera in this price range. You get excellent autofocus, serious video specs, and one of the widest lens ranges going.

    Sony a6700

It is a current flagship-grade body, and Sony almost never discounts those, so even a first price drop is the kind of thing worth acting on. It is not a dramatic saving, but it is a real one, so if you were already on the fence about this camera now is as good a time as any to pick it up.

GoPro HERO13 Black: best action camera

The HERO13 Black has dropped to one of the lowest prices I have seen. This is the action camera I would recommend if you want the best combination of price and features. You get 5.3K video, the best stabilisation GoPro has shipped, and it shrugs off dust, water and the occasional drop in a way no phone will.

If you film yourself walking, hiking, cycling or in the water, this is the one to get. At full price I would think twice. At this price it is an easier choice.

DJI Mini 3: best budget drone

The DJI Mini 3 has taken a big drop from its launch price. It weighs under 249g, which in most countries keeps you clear of the heavier registration and training rules that bigger drones trigger.

    DJI Mini 3

The Mini 4 Pro is newer and also discounted, but the Mini 3 gives a traveller most of what they need, 4K video, long battery life and easy handling, for a good deal less.

This is my pick if you want aerial shots without the drone becoming the most expensive and most stressful thing in your bag. Also a great drone to learn on. It is worth grabbing a few drone accessories to go with it.

DJI Osmo Action 4: best budget action camera

Last year’s DJI flagship, now at an all-time low. The newer Action 5 Pro is on sale too, but the Action 4 is the smarter buy unless you specifically need the longer battery life.

    DJI Osmo Action 4

You get the same large sensor, waterproofing to 18m without a case, and strong low-light performance for the size. For most travellers, last year’s model at this price beats paying up for the latest badge.

DJI Mic: best budget creator audio

If you shoot any video of yourself talking, weak on-camera audio is the thing that marks you out as an amateur. The DJI Mic is the cheapest way I know to fix it: a wireless transmitter and receiver that clip on and just work, no cables. It is the previous version rather than the latest Mic 2 or Mic 3, which is exactly why it is this affordable right now.

For travel vlogging, interviews or piece-to-camera clips, this is a small bag addition that lifts everything you film.

    Insta360 X5: best 360 camera

I have owned a few Insta360 cameras over the years, and they keep getting better. The X5 is the one to buy if you want the best 360 footage: dual large sensors, 8K capture, properly waterproof, and that trick where you film everything and choose your angle afterwards, which is brilliant for travel. It has dropped to its lowest price yet this Prime Day.

If you would rather pack lighter and spend less, the Insta360 X4 Air does the same job in a smaller, cheaper body. You give up a little low-light quality, but for most travellers it is the more sensible buy.

    Also worth grabbing: memory cards

Not a headline deal, but the one I always stock up on. Lexar put SD and microSD prices up by more than 25 percent on June 1 2026 because of a global flash memory shortage (thanks AI), and SanDisk has followed, so Prime Day has briefly knocked the good memory cards back down.

Grab a couple of fast cards from a brand you trust (I stick to SanDisk Extreme Pro and Lexar Professional) and check the speeds match your camera.

What to skip this Prime Day

A deal badge is not the same as a deal. A few of the photography products getting attention this week are not worth your money right now:

    • Fujifilm X100VI. Brilliant camera, no real discount, and it’s very fashionable which means it can be hard to get hold of. In my opinion it’s not worth paying over the MSRP of $1,799. Check price on Amazon
    • The newest flagship bodies. Current top-end cameras barely move on Prime Day. If you want one, you are not really waiting for a sale, you are waiting for stock.

    Prime Day photography deals FAQ

When is Amazon Prime Day 2026?

Amazon Prime Day 2026 runs from June 23 to June 26. Most deals are limited to Amazon Prime members, though you can sign up for a free 30-day trial to get access and cancel afterwards if you want to.

Are camera deals actually good on Prime Day?

Some are, most are not. The newest flagship cameras rarely drop in price during Prime Day. The real savings show up on previous generation bodies, accessories, memory cards and content creation gear like action cameras and microphones.

The trick is to ignore the size of the percentage on the badge and look at whether the current price is actually low against what the product has sold for over the past year.

What is the best Prime Day camera deal in 2026?

For most people the standouts are the GoPro HERO13 Black for travel and action video, and the Canon EOS R100 kit as a first proper camera. Both are close to the lowest prices I have seen on them. The HERO13 is the one for action and travel video, while the R100 is the cheapest sensible way into a proper camera.

Do I need Amazon Prime to get these deals?

Yes, the large majority of Prime Day deals are reserved for Prime members. If you are not a member, you can start a free 30-day trial, use it to buy what you need during the sale, and cancel before it renews.
